This lady is processing manioc, the staple food for the Amazon River people. The leaves of the plant resemble marijuana and the roots are similar to sweet potatoes. To make the flour, the root is peeled, ground up, and then put into a woven straw strainer to extract the cyanide poison. Then the mixtures is dried and used to make bread and added to other foods in cooking.
