We are ready to board the Marco Polo ship for our trip to Antarctica. The ships’ normal capacity is 800 passengers with 350 personnel. The Deck Officers are Scandinavian, the crew Filipino and the Social Staff British and American. Security was tight, as we had to have our cruise card computer swiped before entering and leaving the ship. This cruise had 500 passengers.
