I was honored to be a guest to dine at the Captain’s Table the second night of the cruise.  Captain Roland Andersson, charming and youthful in appearance, has devoted 29 years of his life to the sea.  This was his 8th season to return to Antarctica, the most unusual destination on earth.  The Marco Polo spends two months in the Southern Artic Seas and then proceeds around western South America, through the Panama Canal and summers with cruises around the Scandinavian Countries.
