The island off the east coast of Africa, Madagascar, is where the slave traders stopped after picking up their bounty and discarded the sick and unsuitable. The descendents of those people inhabit the southern part of the island today. This is also the only place you can find lemurs, the funny little bug-eyed creatures with a long tail.
